While they stood on those front lines, choosing courage before selflessness, we enjoyed the rewards of the pain they endured.
Some of them came home broken, scarred in ways that cannot be seen and yet, too proud, too strong, too willing to hold those realities alone, to protect those they love. Such is the cost of the warrior, willing to give everything, while others simply speak of courage, they show it.
Some were not able to come home at all, leaving families grieving the loss of someone so precious that the world did not even know of. Children without parents, parents stricken by the loss of their child.
